Contrary to what their website says, the import and export to and from archiCAD to Revit, Revit Structural and Revit MEP is terrible. You may be able to import and IFC from Revit, but it comes in as bulk object that you cannot do anything with until you redraw them as native tools from within ArchiCAD, also you will loose any "sheets" that were setup in Revit during the conversion. IFC Model Exchange with Archicad Add-In has three functions: “Improved IFC Import” imports IFC models to Revit using extra features that improve the interpretation of architectural models; “Link IFC” merges IFC models into the current Revit project as a non-editable reference; “Export to Archicad” exports Revit model elements in IFC files that are specially enhanced for use in GRAPHISOFT Archicad. Autodesk is king in the US not for any good reason. Historically ArchiCAD was first on the scene, but Autodesk acquired Revit and made wise marketing use of AutoCAD's dominance in the US. Graphisoft recently did a significant overhaul of ArchiCAD's core. Revit will likely make some advancements.

I've worked in both Revit "AND" Archicad (Archicad 10 years+/Revit little over a year) in a production and design mode and they both have their pros and cons.
